Julia C. Zitz , DVM, MS (practice limited to Surgery)
Dr. Zitz earned her veterinary degree from Tufts University in 2003. She then completed a one-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. She went on to complete a 3-year residency in surgery, and also obtained a Masters degree with her thesis on thymomas in dogs and cats at The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio in 2007. She has completed both the basic and advanced courses in the principles of Small Animal Fracture management as well as participated in a course on external skeletal fixation. Prior to veterinary training, Dr. Zitz received her BS degree at Duke University and worked in Boston at Brigham and Woman's hospital as well as at Harvard performing research in the fields of oncology and neurobiology. Her special interests include oncologic and minimally invasive surgery as well as fracture fixation and orthopedic surgery. She joined InTown in September 2007.
