Julie Salazar began working in veterinary medicine in 1999. In 2003 she graduated from Becker College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology.  Later that same year, Julie became a Certified Veterinary Technician. Over the past six years, she has developed a passion for emergency and critical care medicine and in 2009 became certified as a Veterinary Technician Specialist (ECC).  Julie has a strong interest in transfusion medicine and has run an in-house veterinary blood bank for many years.  Her other special interests include respiratory and ventilator medicine.  Julie began working at MassVet Referral Hospital in 2008 and is currently an Assistant Technician Supervisor in the ER/ICU department.  She is also an avid equestrian and riding instructor.
