Spinal surgery is performed frequently at Mass Vet. Unlike human medicine, neurosurgery is not a separate subspeciality, so veterinary neurosurgery is performed by both neurologists and surgeons.
The most common spinal surgery performed is the removal of herniated disc material causing spinal cord compression.
