Premedications & Intubation

This lecture will explore current premedication drug recommendations as well as give an overview of the induction process.  The speaker will also review oropharynx anatomy and share tips on safe and effective intubation of both dogs and cats.
Surgical Patient Prep & Assisting in Surgery
Presented by Erin Spencer, CVT
This lecture will cover the latest recommendations in proper pre-surgical clipping and skin preparation. The speaker will also provide tips to maintain sterile technique in the operating room and will detail proper protocols and procedures when assisting in surgery.
Radiographic Positioning for Surgical Cases

This lecture will cover the use of manual and non-manual restraint techniques to attain high quality core body and skeletal radiographs for surgical cases and beyond. The speakers will provide high and low quality films as case examples.

This lecture will discuss the importance of proper ventilation of the surgical patient.  The speaker will also review the basic anesthetic machine set up and trouble-shooting of the anesthetic circuit.

This lecture will examine the art and science of pulse oximetry and assist in interpreting the results.  The speaker will also provide tips on how to increase the performance of the pulse oxygen sensor.
