Appropriate post-operative care is essential for a successful outcome, especially for cranial cruciate- deficient stifles that have been stabilized. Appropriate pain management, including type of analgesics and anti-inflammatories, as well as length of time that pain medications are used, is discussed in order to encourage weight bearing and prevent central sensitization.
