We're very sad to say that Dogtoberfest 2009 has been cancelled due to weather.
We hope you will join us next year, and look forward to continuing this fun tradition. Everyone who purchased an "early bird ticket" will have their money refunded to them. We thank you for your support & hope to see you in 2010.
Proceeds:
All proceeds from the day's events will go to support the Live Animal Center at the Museum of Science. The mission of the Museum of Science is to stimulate interest in and further the understanding of science and technology and their importance for individuals and for society. The Live Animal Center (located in the lower level near the education division offices) is home to over 120 animals, representing some 50 species—their care is attended to by curatorial staff, interns, and volunteers, 365 days a year. For more information visit www.mos.org.

The animals in the Live Animal Center  come to the museum from many different sources, including zoos and wildlife rehabilitation facilities. As the only science and technology center accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums the Live Animal Center at the Museum of science participates in a Species Survival Plan that helps to ensure the survival of endangered wildlife species, such as the cotton-top tamarins, that reside at the Museum. The Live Animal Center also participates in a Plymouth Red Belly Cooter head start program run by the Natural Heritage and Endangered Species division of Mass Wildlife.
